Ray Civello is a philanthropist, leader, and visionary in the fashion, beauty, and wellness industry. Combining creative skill and keen business sensibilities, Ray is a successful entrepreneur, celebrity hairstylist, editorial stylist, photographer, inspired public speaker and coveted international educator.

For more than 25 years Ray Civello has been a revolutionary figure in the beauty industry as a master hairstylist and business owner. After starting his career as a stylist at one of Canada’s hottest salons, The Rainbow Room, Ray’s visionary talent and engaging personality propelled him to become a sought-after editorial hairstylist in North America and Europe. In 1985, he launched Civello, the first-ever salon-spa-retail store conglomerate of its kind in Toronto, Canada. He opened with the mission to inspire guest to look and feel their best; image crafters committed to being forerunners in beauty and wellness.

In addition to Civello salons, Ray was instrumental in pioneering the Aveda global business. He has held titles as Aveda’s Global and Creative Director and V.P. of Education. In 1994, Ray Civello established Collega International, a conglomerate of sales, salons, retail stores, and education.

Amazonian Kaolin Clay

COPY/PASTE styling clay

Amazonian White Clay is a detoxifying clay sourced near the mouth of the Amazon River. 

Rich in minerals and extremely porous. 

Naturally occurring substance found in soils that have developed from the weathering of rocks in hot, moist climates. 

Amazonian White Clay has a rare ability of eliminating dryness and oiliness simultaneously. 

Acts as a hair and scalp protector by removing dirt while leaving natural oils for moisture and improved hair quality.

Amazonian White Clay is used in our styling paste for it’s many detoxifying and nourishing benefits, and also for it’s characteristics that make it a highly effective styling aid, giving the hair pliable texture with a soft, matte finish. 

Argan Oil

HI HYDRATING MOISTURIZING OIL + ID CONDITIONER

Plant oil produced from the kernels of the Argan tree that is native to Morocco. 

Fruit of the argan tree is small, and round, oval, or conical. A thick peel covers the fleshy pulp. The pulp surrounds a hard-shelled kernel that represents about 25% of the weight of the fresh fruit.

Argan Oil contains fatty acids which are great for moisturizing the hair and scalp. 

Fatty acids have a protective effect and can help prevent damage from washing, styling, and the sun. 

Argan Oil is rich in vitamin E 

Helps prevent dryness, reducing frizz and boosting shine. 

Lubricates the hair shaft and helps hair maintain moisture. 

Argan Oil has anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties that 

can help improve skin and scalp conditions.

Avocado Oil

Avocado oil is pressed from the pulp of an avocado 

Consists of fatty acids highly beneficial to good health. 

Avocado is valued for its regenerative, nourishing and moisturizing properties

Avocado has been used to accelerate wound healing, help hair growth and fight dandruff. 

Avocado oil is highly effective at improving the condition of dry or damaged hair.

Bayberry Fruit

COPY/PASTE STYLING CLAY

Bayberry fruit grows from a small tree/evergreen shrub. 

Plants secrete waxes for themselves as a way to control evaporation and hydration. As a result of climatic conditions, many plants in tropical regions also store waxes in membrane layers in the cuticula as an additional protection against evaporation of water.

Coconut Oil

Coconut Oil is extracted from the coconut tree. 

Functions as a natural treatment for dry skin and reconditions dry, damaged hair

Coconut oil penetrates the hair shaft, getting past the cuticle repairing the hair from inside out and helps prevent further damage. 

Coconut oil helps reduce dandruff and makes hair follicles healthy.

Jojoba Esthers

ID SHAMPOO, FREE REIN SHAMPOO, ID CONDITIONER, REFINE INTERVENTION CONDITIONER, HI HYDRATING MASK

Jojoba is a shrub that is grows in dry regions of northern Mexico and the southwestern US. 

Jojoba oil and wax are produced from the seeds and used for treatments and moisture. 

Jojoba esters are the hydrogenation of jojoba oil and act as an emollient and moisturizer for dry, damaged hair. 

Act as a natural barrier for the skin and scalp preventing inflammation or irritation, 

Aids in removing contaminants and environmental pollutants.

Lemon

SHORE THING TEXTURIZING SPRAY

Citrus is an effective remedy for a clean, dandruff free scalp. 

It is a rich source of vitamin C which can help make hair stronger and longer. 

Citrus has been used to help stimulate hair growth and strengthen hair follicles.

Moringa Seed

HI HYDRATING CONDITIONER (MORINGA EXTRACT) 

Moringa oil is from the seeds of the moringa tree native to Afghanistan, India and Bangladesh. 

It’s leaves and seeds contain more than 90 nutrients and 46 antioxidants that boost health. 

Moringa oil is typically made through a cold-pressing process that extracts the rich nutrients in the seeds- nutrients include vitamin C, vitamin B and different types of monounsaturated fats like oleic acid and behenic acid that help promote smooth, shiny and healthy hair.

Zinc and protein in the oil help strengthen hair 

Decreases inflammatory processes on the scalp.

Pequi Fruit Oil

FREE REIN CURL CREAM 

Pequi fruit oil from Brazil

Extracted from the nuts/seeds inside the fruit of the Pequi Tree.  

Excellent moisturizer 

Helps to alleviate symptoms of dryness, dullness, and damage 

Nourishes, conditions and helps reduce frizz.

Shea Butter

Shea Butter is said to be the most moisturizing ingredient that 

occurs in nature. 

 

Extracted from the nut of the African shea tree, it is most commonly used as a moisturizer due to its fatty acids. 

Locks moisture deep into hair and skin. 

Coats hair cuticles to prevent water evaporation 

Softens hair texture 

Ideal for use on dry scalps or dry, damaged hair. 

Anti-inflammatory properties can help soothe inflamed scalps that may have itchy patches. 

Absorbs easily and deeply penetrates to restore hair.

Sunflower Seed Oil

GRIP N GRACE texture finishing spray, Hi HYDRATING HAIR MASK  

Sunflower seed oil is extracted from pressing the seeds of the sunflower. 

Acts as an emollient,

We have elected to use naturally derived ingredients wherever possible. When we need synthetic ingredients to stabilize or preserve, they are: regulatory-compliant, non-toxic, non-irritating, and non-environmentally impacting.

We believe in a healthy earth as well as healthy hair and source more sustainable packaging for all of our products. 

100% PCR Plastic

PCR is an acronym for Post Consumer Recycled, meaning all the plastic used is recycled from previous applications. PCR produces less waste in our landfills and water sources. We have chosen to use 100% PCR plastic for our shampoo and conditioner bottles, tube caps, sprayers, pumps and dip tubes. All of the 100% PCR plastic in these components is fully recyclable. 

50% PCR Plastic

PCR is an acronym for Post Consumer Recycled. Using plastic packaging with PCR content produces less waste in our landfills and water sources. Our squeezable product tubes used for Free Rein Curl Cream and Hi Hydrating Mask are constructed with 50% PCR resin. At the time of manufacturing, this was the highest percentage of PCR available for use in a malleable packaging component that would endure normal usage and not break down in a short period of time. 50% PCR plastic is fully recyclable after use. 

Glass

Glass originates from natural resources and is said to be infinitely recyclable, which is why we chose to use it for many of our products. Glass containers include Shore Thing Texture Spray, Lifted Root Volumizer, Shining Armor Serum, and our Hi-Hydrating Oil. 

Aluminum

Aluminum is one of the most recycled -and recyclable- materials in use today. A recycled aluminum item is often recycled directly back into itself, and this process can happen infinitely. Our aluminum tub for Copy/Paste Styling Clay and our three aerosol components are fully recyclable.

PET

PET stands for Polyethylene Terephthalate and is a BPA-free plastic that is highly recyclable.  While many plastics degrade in quality when recycled and can only be recycled once or a handful of times, PET may be recycled many times, increasing applications’ potential beyond single use.  We have used PET for our Overtime dry shampoo packaging. 

100% Recycled Cardboard

PCW is an acronym for Post-Consumer Waste. The cardboard for our outer cartons is FSC certified recycled PCW. Our shipping boxes are also made from paper that is 100% PCW and are fully recyclable after use.

All of our packaging is recyclable.
